It is Monday morning here and the weather is horrible. Thunder and Lightening most of the night and still now. Raining cats and dogs Combined with the humidity one needs a shirt change every few hours.
Word of note when eating here mostly with your hands one uses their right hand to eat NOT your left. Your left is reserved for other bodily functions.
Oh yes bring napkins with you or wet wipes. It will cost you $.50 for everyone you use in a restaurant.
We are between weather systems waiting to see what happens. We are likely headed to the Airport to look around. Yes you read that right the Singapore Airport is a tourist attraction itself complete with Gardens and a Butterfly Garden.
As this morning left us indoors with no visit to the Airport. It did clear later in the day but we had a dinner with our fellow Cruise Critic guests at a place called Brewerkz in Clarke Quay. Now I have to tell you that beer wasn’t cheap at $18 a pint.
After our meal we walked down to Marina Bay Sands which was likely a mistake we won’t make again. The heat and humidity were a killer for us poor white folks. Let’s say that when I got back to our apartment I could ring my shirt out.
Now onto something that is very different and that is Singapore itself. Singapore is a mix of people from around the world. You will not see anything like road rage or people getting upset. When we sit down to eat the locals are more than a little curious from where you come from. The conversation really flows with suggestions of where the locals eat and what to see.
You need help just stop a local and they will help you no questions asked. The MRT has been just amazing and cheap. Everything is clean. I also got a life lesson the other day when I was standing and Claudia was sitting and young person got up and told me to sit down as if I was “old”. Has life now come to this?
For my Geocaching friends I have managed to find several caches here as well as a few caches and 1 Victual that were not here the last time I was here.
