Well the second trip has started.
On the evening of October 10 I flew Vancouver to Seattle on an Air Canada Dash 8 to catch my StarLux Air flight to Singapore via Taiwan with a 2 hour layover. StarLux Air is trying to become the Emirates ’ of Asia. The flight from Seattle was slated at 0130 AM and ;lands the next day around noon. If one leaves during the day you will skip a day over the dateline.
I flew their Economy Class on their A350-9 and was pleasantly surprised. You get an amenity kit minus the pyjamas and pre-select your food for the flight. The seats are made of a real neat fabric type material that appears to breathe while sitting the for 13 hours.
The seat screen backs are the full seat back in 4K. If you have your own Bluetooth headset that will connect directly to it.
The downside is there is not a vast movie selection.
The Food onboard was some of the best I have ever eaten in Economy.
Changing flights in Taiwan was easy get off and catch the same Plane onto Singapore.
Arriving in Singapore was easy and one of the nicest airports one could ever travel through. Quick and painless.
Our Hotel Citadines Rochor Singapore in little India and the food choices are amazing.
Headed out about 8 PM to the Tekka Centre where food stalls are lined up. In Singapore there are 3 of them that have Michelin Star status. We found one stand that had many lined up so we decided to try it and we ordered a couple of dishes such as Tandoori Chicken and. A Vegetable Plate and naan with garlic, total cost $15 SGD or $12 USD for both of us.
