CoCo Cay, Bahamas

Today we tendered ashore to Royal Caribbean’s Private Island (Celebrity Cruises Parent Company). This is one where one either uses the ships tender or in this case where small ferries come alongside and take you ashore. There are 7 caches on this Island including an Earthcache.

CoCo Cay cache Area

My Daughter and I headed out and grabbed the first one which had a nice crab guarding it. First down a few more to go. We arrived at the second cache called Coco Cay and could not find it.  Then my daughter said umm Dad would this military style motor container be it? Yes it would, damn sitting right out in the open.
The interesting part about this cache is it had lots of Travel Bugs in it. I took photos of some of the TB’s and took a small one to move along.
I went to log this TB two days later when I got free wi-fi and found it had last been logged in July 2010 when it was dropped into a unpublished cache on the island.

There was also a Earhcache- Coco Cay Erosion Trail  at this location as well. The good news it was a 5 Difficulty and 5 Terrain, yes!

At this cache I saw a lady who was looking rather suspicious using a IPad and looking for something. Yes she was geocaching and we introduced ourselves. Kissingamee is her caching name.
My daughter was never so happy as she could now go to the beach and enjoy it while kissingamee and I went and completed the island.
Off Amee and I went to finish the island, Amee was happy she had someone to cache with and I was happy and my daughter was happy.

The total for the day was 7/7 caches and about 6 km walking.

After we got back to the main area Amee and I went and had the BBQ lunch they were offering. Yes, it is rough caching like this.
